A Call to Service and Leadership

Invitation to National Summit of Vietnamese American Leaders

Washington, DC | July 2nd, 2011

Fellow Vietnamese American leaders,

We are inviting you to take part in a movement that will change the dynamics of our community, elevate its levels of being and performance, and lay the foundation for progress for generations to come.  After 35 years of struggle and sacrifices, the Vietnamese American community has come of age, with abundant individual success stories like yours.  Vietnamese Americans have been known to be resilient, hard-working, and determined to overcome challenges, to achieve success, and to excel.

A Message of Hope and Responsibility

Listen to our recent podcast about "Hope and Responsibility":

Topic: The Bridge Generation | Speaker: Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thang | Event: Community Townhall Meeting in Houston, Texas

Download | Duration: 8:10 | Date: Feb 19, 2011

After 35 years in America, the Vietnamese have emerged as a successful new American community, with numerous success stories of high school valedictorians, successful doctors, lawyers, engineers and bussiness owners. But where are the leaders of our community? Where are the kindlers and investors of our future? Where are the civic institutions and community nonprofits capable of addressing the community's social needs and issues and build the foundation for progress in the future?

As we reflect back on 35 years of hard work and sacrifice, we must move forward in building and nurturing the Vietnamese American community as a whole. During his one-year tour across America, Dr. Thang D. Nguyen, Executive Director of Boat People SOS, speaks to thousands at college campuses and community centers. In particular, he encourages Vietnamese-Americans of all ages and backgrounds, from college students and young professionals to established business owners to join hands together in building the foundation for a stronger and sustainable community, “We need to invest and nurture that community now before it’s too late.”
